You do you, but a person of your stature owes it to us to state where we are plainly: A dangerous, illegal, unprovoked, act of war abroad. At home a group of masked, armed, unidentified thugs are kidnapping a targeted minority off the streets. And no one is stopping any of it.

Counterpoint - living under authoritarianism is exhausting for mind, body, and soul, and wears down your ability to think. Expats supporting from abroad have been critical in fighting autocracies.

Also, how is "leave trans people alone and let them live their lives as they have for decades" not the "moderate" position here? Whenever people call for "moderating" on trans issues, they're calling for actively oppressing trans people, actively restricting trans lives.

The other crazy one is Philip Gourevitch. Writes about int’l politics. Wrote an entire book about the Rwanda genocide that put him on the map. Then was totally incapable of talking about the Palestinian genocide.

Their contribution to the revitalization of the Irish language has already been definitively positive, their outspoken support of Palestine will be remembered beyond these minor dustups.
