I think this number is meaningless when the justice system openly says that it views Christians as more moral.

I'm sure there's some amazing research going into LLMs and AI at universities and informatics laboratories. These companies aren't doing that, they are making up interesting sounding sci-fi and selling it as real tech. Just like when they tried selling the "metaverse".

Well, the public facing products aren't interacting with concepts, they are interacting with patterns of words and images. I find it ridiculous every time these companies talk about future and research because they're not the ones doing actual AI R&D, they are selling these "AI" branded chatbots.

This reminds me how support for Brexit has been below 50% most of the time, but the rightwing political campaign pushed it just over 50% for the moment of the vote.

I disagree. Convincing sells, so they will be just more convincing. The more convincing they are, the less functionality they'll need. Like an inverse singularity.

It's like training wheels on a bike. If you can ride a bike, it slows you down. If you can't ride a bike, it has the result of keeping you upright at slow speeds, and you won't learn balancing. I don't understand why companies who hire race cyclists ask them how they can utilize training wheels.

It's like Marvel's Civil War has always been there in DC comics, a tension between interventionist and isolationist superheroes.

It is, in 1939 and 1940 it's been depicted as "a war in Europe" between 2 fictional countries (a different one in each story), and the bad guys were trying to get the US to join the war. And Ultra-Man in All American Comics predicted a 2nd WW in the future, and got published just when WW2 broke out.

The more I get the message "Everyone is using AI!" the more I double down on my position of never using AI. I've turned it off everywhere I conceivably can. I actually like reading and learning. I don't need a machine to do that for me.

If Leto II and Duncan Idaho will be played by son and father, that will be interesting in God Emperor.

Dune Messiah "Newcomer Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Silo‘s Ida Brooke have boarded Dune 3, sources have confirmed with Deadline, becoming the first additions to the cast to emerge in months. The pair are set to play Leto II and Ghanima."

I bet, they're making targeting software that doesn't hit.

Y'all should decide if "we're not putting Mangione on a pedestal" or "Brian Thompson deserved to die". You can't say both. Decide which one, then check back.

There's that meme comparing POTUS photos before and after presidency, and I think he didn't realize how much it will tax him mentally and physically, even if he doesn't work. It's just unavoidable, you can be a psychopath, it wills till wreck you. And his before photo already looks like an after.

(They say the Simpsons referenced Citizen Kane so much, you can recreate the entire film.)

I give it 10 years and I can use all the jokes again I learned in 1980s Hungary.

Okay, so it's one thing to spread lies like "he's a commie", whatever, because that's a statement of certainty, but… how can he defend things like "my guess"??? Why is it okay to fucking guess?

The National Assembly of the federation is now dominated by their Labour party, while the Nevis Assembly by the center-right Concerned Citizens' Movement. Also, just to make things more interesting, there are Nevis secessionists.

But Nevis with its 13,000 population also has its own Nevis Island Assembly which has 5 elected members from single-member constituencies. But each assemblies have 3 additional members who aren't elected, but appointed, they are called senators, but they are in the same chamber as the elected ones.

It's just too depressing to care about Hungarian politics.
