What really matters is that members of the Trump administration threaten people and lie through their teeth publicly on social media and television without any consequences. Our job is to create consequences.

This is not a Presidency. It is a racketeering operation with an army.

Americans also need to understand that the President is irrational.

Yeah ... I've never been a sports fan. I was in the marching band so I had to go to football games but that was it. Then the WNBA came along.

If the answer is anything but an unequivocal "No", I suggest a motion to vacate. This is not going to stop until it is publicly confronted in Congress and the votes are counted. We, the People, need crystal clarity and we need it now! 2/2

We are ready to back you against this outrage. But House Democrats need to put the question to the Speaker of the House:
"Speaker Johnson, do you support the President's use of federal armed forces against peaceful protesters on United States soil? Yes or no, Mr. Speaker?" 1/2

And also because many people who mostly agree with your analyses, like me, left X in disgust. 😈

I did not know that about Obama until I read Homan's Wikipedia page over the weekend. I was forced into early (for me) retirement the Friday before Obama's first inauguration, so I had other things on my mind. Homan's career is ... well ... interesting. A classic case of "up or out".

Obama is the one who first appointed Tom Homan, according to Wikipedia. The rest of them really don't matter IMHO.

I haven't totally given up on Congress, but I think extreme measures are required. Point blank ask Speaker Johnson if he supports the administration's actions in LA. "Yes or no, Mr. Speaker?" And if it's "Yes", file a motion to vacate and force the rest of the House to take a public stand.

The only tool we have besides the courts is mass nonviolent protests - Congress is in the tank for the administration. But the ratio of administration force to protest energy is much higher now than it was in the Nixon years. 2/3

@adambonica.bsky.social @joycewhitevance.bsky.social Oh, we're paying attention all right! The problem is that the Trump administration is trying to literally rewrite history using armed force. 1/3

I'm still full of rage about what they did to my adopted home of what is now 40 years. I used to hop on the MAX and roam Portland's streets without fear. Now I worry that those thugs will be back for *four* years. I can't speak for the whole city but I for one am in solidarity with Angelenos! 2/2

Portland went through this in 2020. ICE and DHS, with the enthusiastic assistance of the Mayor and Portland Police Bureau, terrorized downtown Portland for *weeks* during the Black Lives Matter protests. The cable news networks made it look like the whole city was a war zone. 1/2

TBH if Speaker Johnson supports what DHS and the National Guard are doing in Los Angeles, I'd start with a motion to vacate. Get him on the record, and then force the GOP to give him a public vote of confidence. /cc @repbonamici.bsky.social
