Geraldo Rivera (who has never been afraid to share a stupid opinion) muses that the change in targeted locations shows Trump ā€œhas heard the cries of the innocent migrants.ā€ GTFOH. They are trolling parks to nab nannies pushing strollers & using kidnapped babies as bait to capture the mothers.

The irony of Marines violating the Posse Comitatus Act to detain an Army veteran is too much

"Speaking to reporters after he was released, the civilian identified himself as Marcos Leao, 27. Leao said he was an Army veteran on his way to an office of the Department of Veterans Affairs when he crossed a yellow tape boundary and was asked to stop."

Also, we were onshoring and re-industrializing under Biden. Just one of the fallacies in the post. These people are delusional, plain and simple.

Just Trump doing his usual trick: 1) after a disastrous policy goes in effect says something publicly to distance himself from it 2 ) media breathlessly reports things have changed, never having heard him lie before 3) Trump does absolutely nothing in actual fact to change it

There are reports that a judge ruled for there to be a hand recount of the 2024 election in Rockland County, NY. What can we expect the next steps to be if it’s discovered that there was election tampering?

Trump mad at Los Angeles because he never got an Emmy/fancy Hollywood award for his TV shows; Miller is mad because he grew up in LA (e.g. Santa Monica) and no one likes him. It's a revenge + retribution move => using government resources to do it. Needling Newsome is a bonus for both of them.

The red states can't afford to lose California's money

I don’t think they’re trying to get CA to secede, no - there’s really no legal provision for that to even happen. I don’t blindly trust *any* politician, but I think Newsom has handled this crisis well. The speech he gave the other night was masterful.

I think that’s probably unlikely. Not a zero % chance, but definitely unlikely.

I think that ship has sailed. I saw people calling for diplomacy today as the missiles were falling on both countries and I just shook my head. We might get to deescalation in a couple of days/weeks, but both sides are furious right now.
comment in response to post
Do we have any chance at de-escalating the Israel/Iran thing?
comment in response to post
Bibi actually openly called for regime change in his speech today. In the conversations I’m having, Israel feels like they have a legitimate shot at forcing regime change, but I’m skeptical they can do either one without US support Based on their target deck, they’re more focused on the regime now.

What’s Israel’s endgame? Regime change or will they settle for destruction of Iran’s nuclear program? Can they achieve either without help from the United States?

Was Sen Ernst foreshadowing when she said ā€œwe’re all going to dieā€? 😩

I think it’s likely that we’ll end up at war with Iran, especially if they follow through with the threat to attack US military bases in the Middle East. We’ve already coordinated and assisted with every phase of this operation - we just haven’t dropped any bombs yet.
comment in response to post
Are we going to get pulled into war with Iran? How much influence over Israel/Netanyahu does Trump have?

Lots of unpleasant things have happened to dictators who pushed their people too far. Lots of leaders have fled the country or gone into hiding, because their people ran them out. Trump is not a god, and he works for us. If massive protests happen, Trump gets removed from office.

Here’s the thing that I wish Americans would realize: ANYTHING is possible if we turn out in large enough numbers. Many other countries, at many times in history, have set this example for us. The people get furious and spill out onto the streets in the millions…and regime change happens. 🫰
comment in response to post
The 2026 midterms are our most likely way out of this, yes. Outside from a medical emergency, voting is our only legal way out of this. If it gets bad enough, we could theoretically go on a massive strike and shut the economy down, but I question whether or not the American people would do it.
comment in response to post
In your opinion: Are the 2026 Mid-Terms our only way out of this political nightmare? We will survive? The Republicans are completely out of control.

In a normal world, I would tell you yes. In this ridiculous dystopian hellscape we’re currently in, I don’t know that there is a bridge too far for the GOP. They’re hammering the WH on immigration - particularly keeping farmers, hospitality workers, etc. - but still unwilling to do it publicly.
comment in response to post
Behind the scenes, what are GOP senators saying about all of this BS? Is there a point where Trump being underwater on all of the key issues starts to change the game?

I absolutely agree that Noem *should* be impeached, but I worry that the Dems going down that road would be nothing more than an exercise in political theater. It would likely piss off a lot of voters, too. Johnson would never allow an impeachment vote, anyway.
comment in response to post
Do you agree that House Dems should bring articles of impeachment against Kristi Noem and her artificial face, and that Senate Democrats should to grind their chamber to a halt (no cloture, no on unanimous consent, etc.)? I’m glad Dems are pissed, but i just think it’s time to stop fucking around.
