Just a normal everyday walk in the countryside… oh

It’s one of those traders looking stressed at screens days…

It’s 9am TFT time here, and citizens are already gathering to protest Tariffs by the United States. Our plain clothes Officer Penguins are attempting to maintain calm, but unfortunately we keep losing them in the crowd.

The book I published with Penguin Business in 2020, Investing to Save the Planet, is on this pirated list from LibGen 😱 www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

Many authors I know have been horrified to find their books on this pirated list used by Meta to train AI according to an Atlantic investigation. The Society of Authors has said in a statement it is “appalling behaviour”. societyofauthors.org/2025/03/21/t... www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

There's still uncertainty around this, but I was really struck by the WMO estimating that the long-term temperature rise is 1.34-1.41C above the pre-industrial level. It was only in 2021 that the IPCC said the world had warmed by 1.1C (based on years to 2020) on.ft.com/4hjSzhR

Lambeth libraries are under threat with cuts looming of 25% - on an already stretched budget. Libraries are vital to so many people - one of the few places you can go without spending money, and a portal to so many worlds. Sign and share! #KidLitUK #SaveLibraries www.change.org/p/halt-the-2...

I wrote about the new breed of sustainable funds for the FT Weekend's Isas supplement: long story short, a label isn't a mark of quality but a description. www.ft.com/content/dd1d...

This is a big debate in sustainable investing right now: should defence be classified as ESG? www.ft.com/content/062f...

Wishing my fellow authors good luck on their school visits today! Stay strong, take biscuits.

Time for a bit of reality - a thread. Sales in the shop are doing well, but we're reliant on sales on the website to help pay the bills. The website is reliant on social media, particularly twitter. Since September, we've seen a big decline in people seeing our tweets.

This is really interesting - highlights the risks for US asset managers in going anti-woke, as Europe has a very different view www.ft.com/content/541c...

Glad that The Bookseller (who I don't think are on here?) has covered this www.thebookseller.com/news/authors...

Amazing that The Nowhere Thief was loaned out more than 2,000 times in the past year by libraries - always an unexpected boost to get the Public Lending Right payment statement through!

I wrote about whether sustainable investing can survive Trump (spoiler:yes) but how the industry is finally ditching the ESG term to mean sustainable. This one is free to read! on.ft.com/4jofU4j
