That space is being taken by the Greens, perhaps by the Lib Dems. And there is no data that consistently suggests that that particular demographic is decreasing but rather increasing. So Labour under Starmer are leaving that and competing in the congested field of Reform and the Tories.

Empathetic attitude towards people who are struggling transcends class, financial status and skin colour. Labour used to represent people who thought people who are struggling need help, now they are trying to appeal to the ‘Little Englanders’ who they cannot appeal to.
