To call Peterson a public intellectual is a bridge too far for me. He is a false scientist, who has fallen prey to lazy populism. The simplest ideas do not solve complex problems anymore than 3 words slogans do.

3 words: dump the grifter

The CPC gain was likely the result of the lingering effect of the Trudeau government dissatisfaction. The CPC loss was likely a reflection of the distrust of Poilievre as PM. In time, Poilievre will remain a dick, but the Trudeau effect will dissipate. Go ahead CPC, keep Poilievre as leader

So be it. I’m very glad he is out of Carleton. We will finally have somebody who gives a shit about actually representing the riding

That’s what he says. I wonder if some in the party think otherwise…. As far as Poilievre remaining the leader

Bruce, sincere congratulations for your win last night. We never met, but I hope we will one day. Simple request, and it’s not a high standard, take better care of your constituents than Poilievre did. Looking forward to see all that you can accomplish for Carleton

So proud of my Carleton neighbors. We REJECT regressive far right politics, ideology and 3 words slogans. If you want to represent us, don’t align yourself with domestic terrorists

He now says anything that might help him win and keep his seat. Pathetic

Well, Smith’s government may want it that way. The population may see it another way and may soon get tired of the never ending whining and make believe friction

I think that the more Poilievre speaks nonsense, the more Carney’s chance to be the next PM increase. Let him spew his spin, unsubstantiated accusations, 3 words slogans and lies. Won’t help him one bit

I want him to lose, but not only lose. I want him to be humiliated, removed from the CPC leadership and remembered as the biggest loser in Canadian political history

Yup. Well written. Carney has the support of this household.

Yea, this was weird. Almost as if he thought the media was not highlighting the turn out enough, so he took it upon himself to prompt a discussion about crowd size on national media. It is more than weird, it is egotistical, creepy and very much in line with Trumpsim. We are forewarned.

Seems to me that is what happens when all focus is on oil and gas. How many times have we heard that AB should diversify away from O&G….

Yes, that’s what I meant, weak politically

Why does it mean it can change quickly again? Is Trudeau changing is mind and planning to run? Poilievre has been campaigning without opposition for 2 years. Perhaps Poilievre was never strong, it’s just that Trudeau was very weak. No, I see no logic in this statement.

I would literally open a prized bottle of wine if PeePee was to lose his seat.

Oh darn, so close yet so far…. I’m in Carleton, and will have to deal with Poilievre. We will try to kick him out, but sadly, it is considered a safe riding for the PC

I respectfully disagree. Without a secure country, more now than ever, these questions have become secondary, as important as they are. We are fighting for our sovereignty, as we make these posts. That no joke. Let’s not split the votes and allow Poilievre to become PM.

C’mon Tony. You know these are provincial responsibilities. Provinces need to agree to bring down barriers. Give it some time, provinces will take their own initiatives. And if healthcare is not taken care of, people like you and I and millions of Canadians will bring it up for action
