City council requested the boat exclusion zone be 400 metres, but Toronto police and PortsToronto shrunk it to 200 metres — for the safety of boaters, who could be at risk of drowning if they tried to swim in from 400m away.

In the city's six downtown ridings, CPC candidates finished second in five of them. The only outlier was Taiaiako’n–Parkdale–High Park, where the NDP's Bhutila Karpoche (barely) placed ahead of a CPC candidate who seemingly didn't campaign at all.

In Davenport — an NDP hotbed provincially — the CPC candidate won 23% of the vote, more than double what the party got in the prior three elections. In Spadina–Harbourfront, CPC won 31% (!) of the vote, 11 points higher than the last election.
