Not sure if relevant, but I've done a close reading of the size of one ad in a recent article, arguing--as you mention--that space and sizing are important for its understanding: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

@jcormac.bsky.social I can't DM you, so writing here to suggest as sources digitized 19th c. newspapers from the Caribbean that have lots of advertisements about concerts (opera, music etc.). Two of them from Barbados for example (Mercury and Barbadian) are on dLOC.
