I live in a MAGA white ghetto. I just listen and shut my mouth. One mentioned Aunt Jemima syrup and liberal fixation on that. It’s was an emotional decision to vote for him and he and JD tapped into that and ran a brilliant campaign. Sure it was racist and mendacious. He was authentically appealing.

They are playing it well! Brilliant actually. Their first retaliatory tariffs were 34%. That’s no accident.

See!!!! If we all get together and resist, today happens! Back a few months he was dismantling government, firing workers and making salutes. He seemed insurmountable and extra legal. The very public vitriol between T and Musk is risible.

Admiration and respect from educated people and mainstream media. He craves that. He knows we think of him as a buffoon. Intimacy begins with empathy and connection. He needs therapy and work to make that happen.

It depends if we use beef tallow or vegetable based oils to fry them up. Why don’t you go and ask RFK, Jr.?

Same thing with that Garcia fellow he wrongly deported to El Salvador. Instead of defying a court order, he could have brought him back immediately and turned the planes around and blamed the “radical left court lunatics.” Easy out with the MAGA heads nodding approval.

Durbin and Duckworth are on our side. We need some Republicans who will see beyond Trump and understand that a left wing goof could be elected President who will order everyone to wear Birkenstocks and seize all businesses. The check is needed.

A few months ago, DOGE and Musk seemed invincible and extra-legal or untouchable dismantling agencies like the Weather Service, DOE, USAID. At this very moment, he and Trump are feuding in real time. Musk is out and courts are enjoining the firing of federal workers and closing down Agencies. Faith

While we are discussing wood chippers, call your Reps about section 70302 in this “big beautiful bill.” We are “fighting” and now even Sen Chuck Grassley expressed concerns about that provision that neuters the courts. Keep the faith. Obama said, “democracy is not self-executing.” Challenge.

Of course. It’s called tradition and precedent. That’s what our legal system is based on. Our Judges, citing that “past” are holding up democracy. They are for the most part, acting as a co-equal Article III entity. That’s why T is pissed and threatening them. Hopefully Trumpism is transitory.

The original article quoted and posted is very flawed in my view. Not well written. We all have a “dog” to use critical thinking.

Certainly, we need to be vigilant. But I can confirm from 35 years of experience in the CJ system, police respond to tips, complaints, calls for service and do investigations after the fact. They patrol for deference and to keep general order. They do not take it upon themselves to do this.

You appear to have some public health knowledge. Please post this kind of thing. We can’t count on the feds right now. We need truth, facts and reason. Those are in short supply with this regime.

Yup. I discussed Biden with a urologist and he told me the same thing. Get PSA tested and keep an eye on it. MRI for $1500 is cheap insurance. Most men with an elevated PSA are a long way from Biden. I wish him well. Carter made it to 100.

Have faith. We need to thank god for our Judges. I have time to be politically active and fully informed because my work allows it. But what if you are labor, retail, hospitality, transport, nursing and you come home dog tired? Or you don’t really have or can’t access a phone for news during work?

What if he just stayed with EVs and was on Kamala’s side? Treated his workers well? Didn’t make a mess of Twitter by espousing hate speech and dis-information? What if?

It will be $2.99 with free shipping on eBay soon. I’ll bet it’s already at Half Price Books. In a few months his book will end up in the free cart at the front entrance to a used book store next to the Almanacs and L Ron Hubbard stuff.

His own Rabbi has condemned him. He grew up in a warm Jewish home in a close knit school. He rebelled against all of this because it was “cool” and different to be far right. He chose not to be a Torah Jew.

Blagojevich too. He extorted a children’s hospital. It wasn’t a political, weaponized prosecution. He wanted a bribe. It was the ask.

Section 70302 neuters the courts by removing enforcement powers. What a Bill. Courts are a pillar of our democracy.

The only parts about Missouri that are worthy of a visit are in the Blue City of St Louis. The old courthouse across from the Arch where Dred Scott case was tried is the most interesting place in the State. Otherwise it’s just another Indiana. Used car lots and jails. They sell fireworks to Illinois

There is a good series of texts I have used to teach criminal justice classes. “What Cops Know” series by Connie Fletcher.

Most cops I have worked in and around for the last 35 years don’t go searching on their own to investigate. It’s not self-initiated. There is typically a call for service, a complaint, they observe something or are handed a file to investigate. They don’t go LOOKING for crime or making a case.
