Actually, it's not that brutal. Considering all the things he is doing, it's actually surprising that he still has a 40+ approval rate.

The art of the deal: give everything (and more) to the (supposed) strong side while bullying the (supposed) weak side. I'm not sure why, and ... I have the feeling that this is not going to work.

And, of course, the US did not sign the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance (ICPPED). I would be surprised to see a US version of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo soon.

It is not about having the right; it is about missing accountability. The reality is that the US democracy is so weak that the elected president has absolute power. Trump is just taking advantage of this.

I see your point and, as it is now, it is too easy for those (few) GOP senators pretending to be on the right side. They are the same who enabled Trump, and now they voted this motion just because they know it will never be voted by House of Representatives.

This is actuality nothing, it will never be voted by th House of Representatives becase the GOP blocked the fast-track option. This is the reason why 4 GOP senators voted for it, a proforma act with no real impact.

I would not be that happy about thi poll. It is concerning: there are 40% of US citizens who are in favor of deportation against court orders. Nothing to be proud of.

It is not an order, it is a recommendation and it is about many different types of emergencies, not necessarily in case of War.

It looks like what I posted in another replay early today is confirmed: "It is pretty fun to see how every time they struggle to provide answers, they reply with "I don't recall ..." They seem to have quite some serious issues with amnesia and memory loss!" 🤦

Sure, we believe it, why shouldn't we? 😅

From an EU view, it's hard to grasp. How does the US struggle so much with election result transparency? Is it intentional, to weaken democratic processes?

Almost like they are unfit to be in such important positions~ I think forced retirement should be an immediate point to address on the agenda.
