While I know that there is going to be some kind of wi-fi connection, I don't know how good it'll be in the backside of nowhere and I am intentionally not taking my usual stash of tech so I can sit down and focus on doing some editing and brain sifting for redrafting a novel.

I remember being so frustrated at RoP that I had to miss panels for other bits, so knowing I can watch things back at this one makes me happy

The schedule's not fully released yet, but if I remember right, there's photos and breakfast meets in the morning, so I'm assuming panels would start running around 11 UK time. There's also going to be video on demand, so they can be watched after as well :)

I haven't, no. Mostly I'm neck deep in the historical documents so I'm working through those and wanting to bite a lot of people. Also, set the SSPCK on fire, because those horrible, horrible men did so much damage.

Oh yes. I also know in the 1690s, they had to put in law that "no you can't just abduct homeless and poor people to take them to plantations in America as free labour! You have to ask them first!"

This was during the planning stages for how to "Civilise" the Highlands, which then involved banning highland clothing under thread of exile and/or pressganging and/or death, enforced English/protestant education, banning their language, child abduction for parents who didn't comply.
Bleak times.

The more I read, the more I think it's the response of a country who's entire economy was hit in a run of horrendous luck when it came to climate, politics and an extremely bad decision that bankrupted us and led to the Act of Union. Got to be cautious with money because look what happened last time

30. So many things. Most especially involving churches or craving parental approval. None of which are things I want or need anymore.

29. I will always come back to Lighthouse Expeditions which let me know it was okay to ask for help and that if I was struggling wasn't a personal failing

28. You expect me to name one? Funny thing about traumatic moments - a lot of the time you don't realise that's what they are because when you're that young, you have no other frame of reference and no context for why it's bad. And by funny I mean, mentally and emotionally exhausting.

27. Of all of them, I suspect my pal Jen. 26 years of us yelling across the world to each other, this year.

25. My favourite comfort watch is either She-Ra and the Princesses of Power or Leverage/Leverage: Redemption. I'm here for found families with troubled pasts working to make things better. (and of course my pirates but that goes without saying)

24. When I do get cravings for food it usually ends up being salty snacks or crisps. Something crunchy and salty

23. So far my best experiences have been fandom meet ups. I've been doing them on and off for 25+ years and almost always have a lovely time.

22. One that irks me a lot is that Scots is "just English with an accent". It's not. Scots is a separate language with its own rules and pronunciation. The fact it sounds similar to English throws people off.

21. Frankly, there are many vast wastes of money out there. Mostly I'm thinking political BS. And especially covid related political BS with all the 20+ billion that apparently was spent and now, we have to be taxed to recoup instead of stripping it back from the twats who got it.

20. Having never seen a pinata or being sure what goes in one, I'm assuming something sticky. Or bees. Don't put bees in a pinata.

19. I'm very happy about the things I've learned in all directions. A lot of it I've had to teach myself and seeing things come to fruition and work out has given me a lot of joy. (Also, the muppets. I can't tell you how happy the muppet stuff has made me and a bunch of other people)

18. If I was a doll I would come with my own workshop, where everything is scattered all over the floor :D There would be labelled boxes but nothing would ever be in the correctly labelled box. It would be on the floor.

17. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes if the vibes are rancid, there is no covering that up. Met a lad once, many years back, and the second I met him, brain was ALL ALARMS NOPE NOPE NOPE. Still not sure what it was about him, but turned out to be right and he was a creep.

16. Relive a single day? Oooof. That's a tough one. I can't think of a single day that didn't have good/bad/other moments.

15. Ahahaha turns out that for 20 odd years, my way of dealing with stress was KEEP DOING ALL OF THE THINGS ALL OF THE TIME AND YOU CAN IGNORE THE STRESS IT'LL BE FINE. Who knew that wasn't healthy? Not this twit! (Also, turns out you can't ignore it. Cheeky bitch is still there. Waiting)

14. I'm not actually sure. I've been in a lot of fandoms and lurked a lot as well. I come, I look at things and read things and chat with pals. I try not to get caught up in discourse and ship wards because I've been there in past fandoms and been burned before.

13. Fired up. Hm. I think it depends on context. Ask me about any of my special interests and you are guaranteed a very enthusiastic lecture. I have many. I collect special interests.
