The way he’s phrased this makes it seem like I just wandered in the direction of someone playing a piano by sheer coincidence but I did actually commission an arrangement of this song for the occasion

Took me some time to get a window to watch that but it’s one of those things that says everything you’re thinking, but better- plus a ton more you hadn’t even considered/didn’t know at all but you’re glad you now do. I can see why they’re excited about video essays if this is what they can do!

There were loads of Christmas jumpers, just nobody who only communicates in references to the Simpsons and I suppose that’s fair enough really

I wore it for my work’s Christmas do hoping it might help me find other like-minded individuals but the only person who commented was the bloke behind the bar and if I’d have spent the whole time talking to him I’d probably have been moved up the redundancy list for not being a team player

Give yourself a break, take yourself off, like Thomas in that photo. Decompress. Don’t feel guilty. If you can curl up on top of a wardrobe and avoid human contact for an hour, do, but if not, go for a walk, have a nap or a bath. If anyone has a problem they can ring me and I’ll give them hell ā¤ļø

6. Finally, I’m generally not a Christmas person and have had to get over my aversion to this time of year since having kids and I’m glad I have because it’s everything to them but it’s important to share that it’s a hard time for lots of us and really hard fucking work for a lot of us, too…

5. Beautiful flowers from the florist in my life. Was so good to see a friend I’ve not seen in ages and there should be a word for the joy you feel when your friend finds happiness because it’s a lovely feeling.

(they had forgotten the context of the other reindeers being knobheads. But then I suppose, forgiveness and redemption is a good Christmas message, too)

3. Represents Christmas with the kids (I don’t tend to share photos of them on my author socials) they insisted we leave nine carrots out for all the reindeer because they weren’t keen on Father Christmas’s favouritism…

next year we’ll have been together 20 years and he’s just generally the best human being on all fronts so I’m very lucky.

Sorry it took so long to appear, I filed it two days after we met but my editor was inundated with festive reviews and Christmassy stuff, so there was a bit of a queue! Good job the exhibition is there for a year šŸ˜…
