Always does.

I’m sure I will. I signed up for some card game tournaments so that I can hyper focus and chill out. Whatever my anxiety is makes the time before an event more stressful than the actual experience though.

Cool. Let’s meet up!

Very cool. Wish you were coming, too!

Hi, Katelyn. I’ll be at Origins, and I also have social anxiety. I’ll try to drop by and say hi.

LinkedIn is people posting about work the way they think other people at work would want them to. It reminds me of how multilevel marketers used to talk back when that was a thing.

Find you a toaster that can toast both sides of the bread equally.

Ostensibly, that’s what I’m going to be doing. But I don’t know how effective I will be at it. But I’ve been telling myself (and others) for years, “When Finspan is finally a thing, I’ll start attending cons again.” The bravery of talking about the future.

Heh. I don’t know that I ever have been interested enough in products being sold to want to attend a convention about them. I felt the same way when I used to work in comics. I’m already (mostly) aware of what’s available. But it’s part of the gig, I figure.

I’m trying to become right with going to them again. It ain’t easy.

The Legion of Doom if it were only Toyman and Solomon Grundy.

For sure. That ratio is simply staggering though—for any game. My expertise is almost entirely in the hobby space, but I did compare data from Amazon as well, trying to get some kind of mainstream view.

The most compelling data point (for me) with Tokaido, specifically, was the number of ratings, given its complexity. It has over 27,000, and fewer than 100,000 copies of the game have been sold. The fact that 27,000 BGG users would bother to rate a game with a complexity of 1.75 at all felt telling.

These questions basically seem like the same question over and over (to me): “Who will enjoy this game and why?” Personally, the reason I buy most games is based on the people I plan to play it with. Otherwise, I might as well just wait for the app.

While researching Tokaido for SM, I tried to reconcile BGG ratings vs. lighter evergreen games. It was an interesting exercise.

The look of the game is perfect, Nick.

I'm playing again for the first time this weekend at a get together with some of my old gang. One of them backed at the "store" level on the Kickstarter. Packs for days. I'm prepared to be humiliated.

I just seem to be getting worse and worse at Finspan.

I’m so excited about this, Fertessa!

Ah. What does it say about me that I assumed it was a collectible card game or poker tournament?

What kind of tournament?

I will! I’ll be demoing at the Meeplesource/Stonemaier booth each day. David, my co-designer will be there, too. We’re doing a panel with Elizabeth at some point, who will not be working the booth ;-). I’m also going to be at Origins, just drifting around.

Thanks. Apparently, ASTRA is a big community of toy stores. I didn’t know about it.

I left alone, my mind was blank. I needed time to think, to get the memories from my mind…

It's a great game!

I think part of it is that you mostly see the people you already follow on Bluesky. If you follow me, you probably know what Finspan is, for example. I am already aware of The Power Fantasy, etc.

Adoro questo! Vivevo a Firenze e non ho visto il gioco in italiano.

I’m intrigued by this one. But Mind MGMT doesn’t get to the table often for my groups. So I worry.

I have never been able to figure out how to draw anything in Illustrator.
