I write about this fundamental map-over-territory misdirection, and how the rest of us can get in better alignment against it, from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Or their refusal to acknowledge our (inter)dependence on functioning planetary systems and other species, or their individualistic approaches to health and wellness, or the belief that human thought could be reduced to binary code... Seriously, their insistence on their map-reality is behind it all.

Just take their efforts to erase trans people, for one example. They act like that kind of boundary-blurring is an existential threat, because in a way, it is: positive proof that their black-and-white, rigidly hierarchical models are made up BS. Border-policing is another very literal example.

Sure, psychology, class interests and whatnot are all in the mix, but other factors all tie in with this map-over-territory worldview that provides load-bearing support for every supremacism. Reality isn't as tidily rankable and controllable as they want so they try to terraform the complexity down.

Of course. De-escalation is cuck. Win-win is cuck. The Other must lose. This racialized gender insecurity is central to their ideology, more so than greed or any policy.

Like, multiple Democratic Senators voted to confirm this bitch Noem. Have some goddamn party discipline, or at least stop fighting while younger candidates try to impose some with overdue primaries @democrats.org

For fucks sake, fight them. Republicans in Congress *are* the thugs. Voting for Trump’s government thugs’ nominees and bullshit bills, staying polite to fascist colleagues, and not shutting this shit down, physically if necessary, is acquiescing to authoritarianism. In broad daylight, one might say.

Shut it down. By physically blocking doors if necessary.

I hate purity tests as much as the next person who wants to actually grow a movement, but good faith is just a bare minimum requirement. Sometimes it seems like few people even know or care what good faith is anymore.

Certainly one of the things that all of the various anti trans groups have in common from the Nazis to the "Gender Criticals" to the Evangelical Christians is their love for controlling other people's lives. Authoritarianism isn't just a political description, it's a thought pattern

America needs to understand, and it needs to understand literally in the next few hours that the federal government is now waging a full scale information war propaganda war, and what appears to be the makings for some sort of ground invasion of blue cities. bsky.app/profile/dber...

So true. It’s fine and strategic for people and organizations to have lanes and focus on core issues, but we all need to do so in recognition that everything is interconnected in very practical and important ways. Trans liberation is climate justice and climate justice is trans liberation.
