This could be as important as the much heralded striker signing. Will speed up our approach play when needed and help us to break down all those low blocks that have resulted in too many drawn games
comment in response to post
Agree. We have massively underachieved in Europe. We should have won more between 2000-2010. Losing four European finals hasn’t helped.

I agree. Best worst option. It will somehow manage to backfire on them in typical fashion anyway

Nah, it’s their usual 10 min walk around the block after breakfast

Yes, it is

How now brown trou?

I never thought I’d be an apologist for Pascal Cygan 20 years after the fact! However I think he did fairly well for us and only made a couple of mistakes. Again, difficult when you’re coming in because of injury for the likes of Cashley, Sol and Kolo.
comment in response to post
Remember Cygan played 24 times during the Invincibles season, including 10 consecutive games when we conceded 4 goals. Decent passer too. His extreme baldness didn’t help his rep!!
comment in response to post
What else could they call him?
comment in response to post
Often the same with CBs filling in. Saw it with Cygan especially and formerly Keown. Really difficult to come into that position when it’s usually occupied by an established pairing.

The quivering knee of the midfield general was silenced by the skill of the other midfield general!

Loved how Jover was raging when his instructions to cross to the back post were ignored, even after Rice scored!

Nights of joy are rare and beautiful amid the corruption and nonsense of the modern game. Pleased for all fellow Gooners, the team and the club who have had to deal with all sorts of shite this season and have got zero credit for it. Job not done, but a fantastic evening.

Never in doubt. What a performance from a top player and character. Drove us on and delivered two world class strikes.
comment in response to post
Agreed. Play with the intensity we showed in the second half and no team could live with us though.

He’s the Roger Federer of football. Oozes class

Classic!! Great vid. This is historic

Voice has gone. Absolutely incredible. This is the level. So pleased the lads showed what they can do. Let’s enjoy the destination and the journey!!

To be fair, Pep mentioned the Mitre ball in the FA Cup and this is about the Puma League Cup ball being used in the Premier League. So Pep’s comments are irrelevant in this context
comment in response to post
Yeah, something that’s never been seen before in the history of the sport…like Rice gets sent off and concedes a penalty for slipping and accidentally sitting on the ball in the box.
comment in response to post
Yep - first thing I thought of. Both opponents would be very tough but our strength is our defence and our attack is non-existent vs a low block
comment in response to post
I’m sympathetic to Atletico here - feels completely unjust

Praying already begun!

Agree Nick. Seems more and more games are decided by marginal and often ludicrous nit-picking details. There have been a plethora of them this season. VAR is a big contributor to this….and inevitably so
comment in response to post
If it was, it was very slight. That’s like something that would happen to us this season

Must be looking for a job in the premier league

Let’s hope he’s proven wrong, starting this evening with a Villa win!

It was interesting to see Raya not going long from the kick off for the first time I can remember. Wonder will that change if MM starts
comment in response to post
I was forced into a half-time purchase of Jamon Ruffles to coax a goal from us. The Ruffles pay off with a Spanish goal!
comment in response to post
Didn’t know that. Yep, wide berth

Would love to take a punt on Carlos Vela. He can finally fulfill his early career promise!

Ben Yedder too

That Asensio deal would’ve made a lot of sense for us
comment in response to post
The frustration is that we are good enough to beat anyone. Best XI vs best XI, I think we are better than Liverpool. As a fanbase we know we are one injury (Kai) away from the season collapsing from a very promising position, despite all the difficulties we’ve endured this season
comment in response to post
Agree. It’s not this window, it was underinvestment, especially last summer
comment in response to post
So would I. Makes you wonder if AFC have got something cooking….
comment in response to post
Do you think @manutdfc.bsky.social would loan us Patrick Dorgu for the rest of the season? With Ayden Heaven gone, we need someone to clean Myles Lewis-Skelly’s boots.

Love it

Certainly not in the January window
