Really excited to see this out. Been great working on it with great collaborators as part of @deindustrialpol.bsky.social

Quite apart from the seriousness of the climate crisis, Farage’s rhetoric reveals he has zero understanding of power generation and metals production.

UK govts have fallen over themselves to plough money into AI. As the Apple report confirms (echoing exp of other sectors), AI is fundamentally limited in its application & generates a lot of inaccuracies. It’s a massively resource intensive Ponzi that Big Tech’s lobbying to have the state bailout.

As @alcs.co.uk warned, this is just the beginning of the damage to the UK’s highly successful and respected creative sector by @teamlabouruk.bsky.social concessions to Big Tech.

Did you know that University of California Press @ucpress.bsky.social has a metric tonne of books #Free2DownloadAndRead in their Open Access page? All available here: www.ucpress.edu/book-lists/o...

To say that Labour fended off Reform at Hamilton by-election is a complete misrepresentation; the latter came third after the SNP. The problem with such sloppy reporting is that empowers Farage and Reform and distorts their appeal! šŸ™„

A proper teaching cover post in modern US history - no 9 months or 0.8 PT nonsense, one year and FT - based in Belfast. Genuinely lovely & harmonious School, and (relatively) stable institution. hrwebapp.qub.ac.uk/tlive_webrec...

This is appalling. One life lost and another broken, illustrating the depth of hatred being inculcated and nurtured by MAGA in the US. They are actively supporting preachers peddling the same hatred and division elsewhere (AfD in Germany, Reform in the UK, and Rassemblement national in France).

The Scottish Government has pursued a different social security agenda to the UK as a whole. Projections suggest that child poverty in Scotland fell between 2022-23 and 2024-25, while it rose in England. Under current policy assumptions, rates are projected to diverge further.

A great opportunity to join our @deindustrialpol.bsky.social project on a PhD studentship @uofglasgow.bsky.social exploring deindustrialisation and working class expression.
