Just like Paul Nuttall twisting through a bankrupt land

Universities give you the tools to make more sense of a complex world, and the (illusion?) that you can alter it, and regain some control.
Hence the more highly educated you are in fields that allow critical thinking about how the world operates, the less likely you are to seek populist solutions.

My intuition is that voters turn to populists because they want simple answers to complex problems.
These apparent solutions give the illusion that you can regain control of your life from otherwise incomprehensible, faceless forces.

It's possible to conceal a decline.
It's not possible to conceal an alleged decline.
Not unless the accusation is true.
In which case the word "alleged" is redundant.
And covers no legal backs.

I disagree with this.
What you are ceding to the racists in taking this veiw is their use of language.
Once you have acquiesced in the use of racist language, you have implicitly accepted a racist worldview.

So much of what claims to be American Christianity is a blasphemous abuse of the name of Jesus Christ. I sort of wish the Pope was still in a position to get medieval on the heretics.

I don't think Trump favours fair competition.
Even among American citizens.

There's no such thing as "pure white people".
Every person who is described as being white is descended from black Africans.

The Cyprus parliament was told that procedural loopholes had made it impossible to collect the money as a result of the elaborate tax-dodging scheme revealed by us back in January 👇

Structurally, his assumptions guarantee that white people in the UK die out, non-Muslims die out, and UK born die out.
There's nothing empirical or scientific in this.
Goodwin has been paid to wrire a report that is to arrive at these conclusions, and he has structured his model accordingly.

Mathematically, if you treat his schemes as Markov Chains, both non-white and foreign born are absorbing states, and the probability of all your descendants ending up there is one.
Unless the Markov assumption is violated by pure white racists refusing to comingle with anyone of tainted blood.

And most revealingly, there does not seem to be any possibility in his classification for non-white british.

There is no discussion of offspring from white british and white (other) relationships (that I can see).
Nor any indication of how he has treated offspring where at least one parent (born before 2022) had at least one foreign born parent.

In Goodwin's paper there is no definition of white british.
But he does talk about inter-racial (his term) relationships beyween whites and non-whites giving rise to mixed race offspring who are then classified as non-white.

I may have misunderstood Goodwin, as the paper is exceptionally unclear, but I think he treats anyone born in UK after 2021 with at least one parent not born in UK as not UK born, but before 2022 these are classified as UK born.

It's a contronym. A word with two meanings which are opposites.
Another example is the verb sanction, that can mean allow, or penalize.

The solution is obvious: national service for pensioners.
