That is top of the range pointing right there! DYK, a well trained individual can accurately point at over 5 things every day? FACT.

This needs reporting to their local FLO, as the grail (holy) could be considered possible Treasure under the significance criteria of the Treasure Act. More admin🙄

“The comedian Jimmy Carr, the Conservative party leader Kemi Badenoch and the leader of the right-wing Reform UK party, Nigel Farage, also reportedly attended.”
It also sounds like an absolutely shit party.

In addition, when someone purchases a detector, it comes with no information about where you can and can't detect, the code of conduct for responsible detecting, or information on Treasure Law. Ignorance is not a defence, but some effort should be made by retailers and representatives of the hobby!

Even worse when other people's geophysics is used to punch such holes, allegedly. (Not in the case reported here).

I think that's quite a technical thing to do and might need a computer, probably one with a mouse. I'm a photosop expert having once thought about buying it. I've zoomed into the picture and the jury is still out.

The route to reporting back is through the popular metal detecting magazines. Research that has a detecting origin is reported in popular archive mags, but not in detecting mags. Inclusion is important. There is so much to say that hasn't yet been said.

Building on this; we need to achieve the same circle of research for the PAS database and report back to metal detectorists the contribution they make to archaeology. Currently only 10% of detectorists record their finds. Helping them understand the contribution they make could increase engagement.

Glad I didn't subscribe to RIH. At the time, it wasn't the principle. It was the money. Now it's both.
