Hard to imagine a path out of this that doesn’t include serious reforms.

And anecdotally at least, there was a big shift in how one was treated in public after 9/11 and the first couple of years of GWOT

Great article. About the role of the AVF in this though, one thing I’m not sure how to reconcile is that half of the Army total is in the Reserve and National Guard, played a huge role in making the GWOT deployed levels possible, but is not as professional and insulated

Orthogonal to that, also stuff that just hasn’t been subjected to rigorous investigation. What should or should you not eat when immune compromised from cancer chemo? Are raw fruits and veggies ok or only eat cooked foods? Nobody knows, and there’s no money in it

Initial thoughts on the released texts:
1) Tulsi Gabbard lied under oath yesterday when she said there was "no classified info"
2) Strikes hit a residential building
3) Unclear who authorizes strikes (has it been delegated? to whom?)
4) Palace intrigue as Waltz adds Miller when Vance objects

Considering the state of things in the Black Sea, does this not primarily benefit Russia, whose navy has been beaten back from Crimea? Unless this would also include Russia _not_ launching cruise missiles from the Black Sea.

Pete Hegseth in 2023 on Biden "handling classified documents... flippantly": "If at the very top there's no accountability," then we have "two tiers of justice."

But they’ve had to steadily increase the financial incentives to generate enough volunteers, so it’s not like things are static.

I don't really care if one individual person steals a book for personal use. I do care if a gigantic corporation steals all the books and then feeds them into a word generator app that it will use to make money.
