There are two transfer windows a year. Most clubs plan for them, identity their targets in advance, & go for it. As professional as Howe & the team have been on the field, Eales, Mitchell & the other club executives & owners have been shambolic. How ambitious are we? Any truth in the Isak rumours?

Why does the US put up with stuff like this from elected officials? In any other western democracy he’d be forced to resign

It won’t work but condemnation isn’t enough. You have to say what you want to happen, not just what you’re against

But WHAT are you calling for? Be specific. That’s what Trump does. Complex arguments don’t work even though you’re right. Noem should resign. That’s it. Call for that

Why isn’t anyone calling for Noem’s resignation?

What strikes me is how ineffective the top Democrats are in responding. They’re making statements saying they are shocked and appalled and “enough is enough” but they seem clueless about what they want to happen. Surely they demand Noem’s resignation & a public apology and keep demanding it…

Yes but what now? All I’m seeing is Democrats condemning it or saying enough is enough. WHAT do you want to happen? I’d start by:
1. Demanding Noem’s resignation
2. Demanding a public apology

Yes but then what…? Surely at the very least you demand:
1. Noem to resign
2. A public apology from the administration

This is going to test the Trump administration’s policy of never apologising

In every other western democracy Noem would be fired and those involved prosecuted

Any General worthy of the name would call this out afterwards. The troops are there to serve the country.

Hegseth is ridiculous. Only the US would put a drunk TV presenter in charge of the military. Bluster is all he’s got

Trump is nuts! The US shuts itself off from the world and gives all its soft power to China and anyone else who wants it

Why should we take advice from this administration?

I’m not surprised. It’s a tournament that no serious football fans are interested in, no clubs need, in a country nobody wants to visit. Players need the rest too. Is it too much to hope that FIFA scraps it next year? Sadly that’s probably a yes.

Trump is the weakest president in US history. Those who voted for him should hang their heads in shame
