Did the Pope’s get better attendance than the orange guy?

I am being silly in case it wasn’t obvious. Cool name for a sci-fi writer and trainee Cassandra though.

Pffft! And La Guettier isn’t a subtle play on the French 😀 translate.google.com?sl=fr&tl=en&...

I cut mine back to the ground, lit a fire on top of it, and then buried it under a pond liner and three feet of gravel. I still had to weed out all the shoots that came up for the next two years before it finally died.

The answer is “well all my clients are innocent so I’d suggest this random cameraman will fill your quota”. It would give some interesting footage at least.

Off topic but where does “is calling for an 85% chance” come from? I hear it a lot. Doesn’t a forecast “predict” or “calculate” or just “give” a chance? Is it some sort of sop to the religious “God makes the weather so all science can do is ask him to comply with the forecast”? Confused England

Back a few years, before wifi calling, my bank introduced mandatory two factor authentication by SMS code for online banking. The nearest mobile reception was a mile away and the code expired after 15 minutes. I have never been an Olympic runner.

Why? You clearly explained what the real cause was. I just assumed it was a really clever abuse of the moderation AI to make a comment about Israel and Iran.

Congratulations. That’s a big chunk of extra you. Personally I’ve been losing and gaining the same 5kg for about a year now. I blame pizza!

I have no idea why BlueSky marked this post as “rude”

… or someone started blowing up apartment buildings, hotels, and hospitals because Trump or his donors might be staying there.

I’m not an economist but wouldn’t lowering the interest rate at the moment reduce support for the dollar, so increasing bond yields even further, so increasing government debt interest, and because the dollar is weaker also increase US inflation massively. @francescoppola.bsky.social‬ ?

…because I can’t help overdoing a punchline, because there is a Thatcher link, because pre-Brexit Bruce Dickinson was quite good, and because Vincent Price! www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxnN...

So a tracking number. We could call it the number of the British Entry At Shoreline Tracker maybe there is a cool acronym for that.

Loved your show in Tiverton by the way. When will you be back?

Is there a word for the feeling you get when you tried to be funny before realising you were replying to a real comedian and are now waiting for the reply that will destroy your credibility for all time?

…also, remember that all Europeans are left wing compared with the US. To most of us the Democrats would be “a bit Genghis”.

I imagine it will be even worse for non-Aryan Americans who might have to travel outside the US for work.

This sort of thing, and direct flights from Europe to LA might just revive the US tourist trade after Trump is overthrown.

…and for the musical theatre curious there is always the Rocky Horror Show. At least two of my favourite girlfriends came via that route.

The attitude that crowd control is achieved by causing injury seems to be pervasive in US policing. I get a similar feeling from seeing “less lethal” weapons pointed directly at people and shot in volleys like they are revolutionary war redcoats.

Next step should be criminalising providing insufficient support for people who are homeless.

Trump levels of unfounded self regard. Somebody should tell her that you only say your morning affirmations to yourself. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ivx...

Kemi Badenoch shooting herself in the foot repeatedly and being a comedy narcissist helped a little too.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the next boat, and the aid going overland (Sumud Convoy?), and the March to Gaza, and whatever else follows… Greta Thunberg didn’t have an effect by protesting on one day but by turning up every week and by others joining in.

Seems to be a tiny number of National Guard massively outnumbered by press and cameramen with any protesters in the far distance, which makes the obvious lack of training even more obvious. I suspect the real trouble will start in the evening after the photo ops have finished (watching BBC coverage)
