Off topic but where does “is calling for an 85% chance” come from? I hear it a lot. Doesn’t a forecast “predict” or “calculate” or just “give” a chance?
Is it some sort of sop to the religious “God makes the weather so all science can do is ask him to comply with the forecast”?

I’m not an economist but wouldn’t lowering the interest rate at the moment reduce support for the dollar, so increasing bond yields even further, so increasing government debt interest, and because the dollar is weaker also increase US inflation massively.

Seems to be a tiny number of National Guard massively outnumbered by press and cameramen with any protesters in the far distance, which makes the obvious lack of training even more obvious. I suspect the real trouble will start in the evening after the photo ops have finished (watching BBC coverage)
