Haha thanks! My army narrative helps: the entire 1000 point force is a traitor guard regiment who fell a while back, so some are still traitor guard, but the ones who are cultists still have scraps of guard gear scattered through them and the like - hopefully you can track the descent into heresy.

I’ll admit I’ve not watched any of those - I just went in like ‘if I don’t know, I don’t know but I refuse to do homework’ and I still enjoyed the human stories so I guess it worked ok. I know what you mean though, connectivity can go too far

Read the Night’s Dawn series in my twenties and enjoyed them immensely. The ship to ship combat with the drone-thingies where it’s got too fast for humans to take part was really fun too

I’m working my way through the recommendations and having a lovely time (thanks to all who replied!) My only letdown so far is that audible have the books AFTER blindsight, but not flippin’ blindsight! (Sorry @vincentknotley.bsky.social I really will check it out when I get the chance)

Oh nice! Hazbin is a delight. You have to give it the first 3 episodes to hit its stride (episode 2 flags a little and I’ve known a couple of folk bounce at that point) but my god it’s a treat. And the songs are SO good (apart from the one in episode 2 hence the bouncing). Helluva Boss good then?

This. This right here. Still, they’re just hitting the point where I’m certain of what everything is and how it’s going to (hopefully) come out looking cool (re: horrid and squicky)

I mean you know the sort of stuff I like… who’s the author? I’m struggling to find it as there’s a few books called that it seems!

Yeah it’s a strange one (no surprise there I guess) and I didn’t enjoy it as much as the other three, but it does more or less tie itself up by the time it’s done and I felt as though it did add something - I hope you enjoy it either way 🙂

Yes! I absolutely loved it (I couldn’t get on with the tv version so much, not that it was in any way bad, just had that ‘read the book and this wasn’t quite what I’d imagined’ thing if you know what I mean?)
If you liked that, have you read Thin Air or Dark Matter by Michelle Paver?

Excellent film, under appreciated and surprisingly clever 😊 (not my original intention, but I can see a film fest coming on!)

Ghost Station has just gone to the top of my list, amazing, thank you 😊

Also because I’m an idiot and should have said this in the original skeet, I’m specifically after books (it’s way easier to find this sort of thing in movie format, though recommendations still gratefully accepted!)

An absolute classic, I have seen it before but I might have to give it another watch!
