The level of dumb just keeps on increasing.

Good for you. Even if it's nonsense. Prayer and meditation are clearly not the same thing. But stay happy in your self-delusion.

It doesn't.

Show me a documented case where prayer has achieved anything for the one being prayed for. With actual evidence not hearsay and testimony.

Works were ALWAYS done by people doing it themselves. Nothing to do with God. If your God has the ability to intervene in that way he's an absolute bastard for what he allows to happen to innocent people
comment in response to post
What a pompous reply. You have no idea how old i am or if im wise. The point is that prayer had no effect on those you pray for. It might make you feel better but it does absolutely nothing practical. Meditate away but don't pretend that your prayer does anything other than comfort yourself
comment in response to post
The point is that prayer does nothing. It has zero effect. You don't need to pray in order to take action. Either way the prayer won't make any difference. And if you need to pray to realise that hunger is bad you need help.

Like all of them he was a rich bigot in fancy dress.

So as I said it does nothing.
comment in response to post
So he admitted prayer has zero effect then

They have to claim it like expenses rather than it being a salary. In the last figures I saw John Major, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and David Cameron all claimed close to the max, while Theresa May claimed about £58k. No doubt Truss thinks swanning around the world counts as public duties....

She's not launching anything - she's fronting the launch for her rich backers. Still can't see what a joke she's become.

Wannabe dictator.

Well said. More people need to call them out.

What an arrogant prick. He has no right to forgive this person. He should be begging forgiveness for himself.

He's trying to break the power of the US over oligarchs and the super rich. Anyone who has the ability to stop or even make it difficult for them doing whatever they want is a target. Federal government, the judiciary, allies, etc. etc. States would not have the power to stop them on their own.

Yet another establishment idiot who just doesn't get it.

Its made by the wealthy or those that are paid by the wealthy. It's unsupported by facts, just like the 'all the millionaires will leave'. It's done with everything that hits the well off. See the private school tax - 'the state schools will be overwhelmed'. Turns out to be nonsense.
comment in response to post
That makes a lot of sense. The federal govt is the only thing that can constrain oligarchs/corporations so dismantling it is logical. The UK doesn't have the same structure, so it has to be done differently here. Freeports for example serve a similar purpose.
comment in response to post
Well that's alright then.....not.

Because it's a barrier to selling off the NHS

Then why did the Tories and Reform applaud this move?

Streeting has always been over there on the right. How he ever became a Labour MP is beyond me.

Does he have any idea how dumb that makes him sound?

I'm not sure you can tell Trump anything he's not interested in hearing.
comment in response to post
That makes so much more sense. I'd heard reports on how extracting the minerals would be slow and expensive. But that was the reason for Trump's attempt to end the conflict. So why blow up the deal? And why would he believe Russia would accept it - unless Putin knew it was worthless.

Hopefully you don't consume that amount of toast as well!

It's quite a place and one that I don't think you can appreciate the size of without walking it. Enjoy!

Which is exactly the point that Zelensky tried to make in the Oval Office.

No, we shouldn't encourage dumping of trash in the ocean.
comment in response to post
Because we still haven't grasped that appeasement of a dictator doesn't work.
comment in response to post
Those are the highlights???? It's vacuous nonsense devoid of any real content.

The difference is that Trump had a first term to learn from. If Johnson got a second go (no chance thankfully), I would bet on him employing similar tactics second time around.

It's an economic take over of Ukraine not a partnership.

Yep. But using completely unreliable data doesn't seem to be a problem for them as long as it produces the result they want.

Unless the experts from the trial agreed that the new evidence would change their opinion this can't be enough. to grant a new trial, can it? Experts give opinions, juries decide the facts.
comment in response to post
But to do what? If your compromises go so far that they are indistinguishable from Tory policies, what's the point? If they don't take radical action - wealth taxes, voting reform, media, we'll just keep repeating the cycle - Labour - Tory, Tory, Tory - Labour etc. and nothing will ever improve.
comment in response to post
All this shows is how polling can be manipulated with highly leading questions. Frame these differently or use left policies and frame them in the same way I would bet you will get similar results.

I always feel the response is too polite. They need to call it out for the bs it is. They need to question Farage's motives in every interview. They need to call racism what it is. Too much trying not to upset right-wing voters instead of telling them how it is.

Which, for most of them, was the whole point of Brexit. The ability to water down (pardon the pun) regulation with no-one able to hold them to account.
comment in response to post
Jesus wept
comment in response to post
And they are lying about the reason. They want to do this so they can chip away at OUR rights and no one will be able to hold them to account.

It's a bit bizarre isn't it, even for Stokes & McCullum? Suspect like most of their gambles it's going to be a masterstroke or a 'what were they thinking' moment. Good luck to him

Aah, just seen you are catching up!

Can't remember who, but didn't someone say they'd reported it and the police (Harrison) said there wasn't much they could do?
