I had a car mechanic out to get my car started. He had a can of WD40 and was squirting it around the engine saying - "You have to follow the spark!"
I'd rather he just fixed the car, rather than give me a philosophy lesson.

I'm all three - writer, artist, web designer - have a look at lilacpixel.com - simple, effective websites, quite cheap too!

When my grandpa encountered a small sachet of honey in a cafe, he'd say to the staff - "I see you keep a bee".

"An artist never really finishes his work, he merely abandons it." - Paul Valéry
I put this as a quote for my first demo tape (given, in person, to John Peel) - perhaps not the best quote for a demo!

I did the same yesterday, too!
Equally, they suggested I do an author talk (to up to 50 people) at a sister library.
But I'm an old pro, really. The last talk I did at my local library was with two punters and a librarian.

I often think I hear an owl hooting away, then wonder where on earth I used to live to make that seem normal. Nowhere, as far as I can remember.

Yes, sarcastic to a point and funny, but - aren't your two examples so far very real concerns? It'd be interesting to go to M&S and any local screening service to find out.

Yes, absolutely. But I know most of the lyrics to most of the works of Joy Division, which isn't going to help.

Yes I do, fanatically. On GitHub, on a second hard disk and onto a USB stick. Then I've collected ALL my short stories, bunged them into a Word doc and published them on KDP to be printed out on real paper with real ink. Then, once an author copy is received, they are unpublished. Recommend!
