It's helpful for teaching young writers too, to reassure them that even the best writers don't spontaneously produce perfection: "writing is a messy process" is one of my aphorisms.

Sounds great, especially if they have a range of backstories: one who was rescued from the streets as an orphan, one who's a nepo baby from a famous line of wizards, one who resents their master and the way they were ripped from their childhood home. 👍

... strengths and weaknesses, but you should naturally get clashes given the different philosophies / natures of the winds. So try to lean into that: a gregarious Grey with a very urban skillset / a focused Amber with a very rural skillset / a Bright with strong military ties etc.
