Their '95 headline set on Worthy Farm is (rightly) cited as defining, but I missed it through lysergic meandering in the green fields. I was, however, there for their set in '94, a sunny Sunday tea time. 5 days in, emotional, sunburnt and watching my favourite band at that moment in time. Magic.

"How Do You Sleep" remains unnecessarily mean though...

Always tempting to skip the opening title track on this as it's overexposed. But! Despite the hackneyed commentary on its hypocrisy, it's still a lovely tune and can hit you where it was intended every now and then.

Not really sure, I liberated it from my wife's home office some time ago. I have however just had a quick look on Am*zon for you and this seems to be a similar model...it does the job.

I replied to a girl in RSVP, she was from Hale which sounded impossibly exotic to a 14 year old from the North East coast. Just the two letters. No recollection of any content, but I do recall the feeling of rejection when correspondence halted. I reckon she wasn't into Hue & Cry as much as I was.

Probably his poorest effort all told but the title track alone redeems it.

Thinking about it, it was probably the first time I heard music through a medium that wasn't a transistor radio, TV or our record player at home. Little wonder that that major step in amplification made an impression on those tender ears. That, and the fact it's a fucking banger.

I note the old Grand Prix vs SFNB debate reared its head yesterday. They're both equally great. The Fannies haven't put a foot wrong imo. Yes, that includes "The King".

You're not lying Stu. My introduction was when they sang a couple of tracks live on Cerys Mathews show a few months back and I know it's an overused phrase, but they really did stop me in my tracks., I had to sit down and just fucking listen. What an incredible voice.
