Yes, the road was rerouted when an aluminium smelter was built on the site. The marker may have been destroyed in the process, but the researcher cited in the article hopes that maybe someone rescued it and has it in storage or in their garden!

Hi Cerys, I hate to disagree with you and Sophie, but Spanish Moss isn't a lichen. More remarkably, it is a flowering plant related to the pineapple! See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish...
