It’s not whether the glass is half full or half empty, it’s whose round is it, and mine’s a pint. (Note to all: Please don’t follow me with the expectation of financial help. Can’t afford it, and you might be a grifter.)

Changed my find, as I’ve just seen another of your posts. That’s Carol Cleveland, and the ones in shoes belong to Michael Palin.

Imagine how long Steve Nolan’s Oppenheimer would’ve been if the Americans worked on the same timescale!

Read that Netanyahu has been claiming that Iran are on the brink of having nuclear weapons since 1992.

My former life, growing up in a seaside town, and later managing a newsagents there. If I’d realised the nostalgia, I’d have squirrelled away a few of those, and the Lyon’s Maid spinning signs!

I’m stuck in a hot office this evening, and now need an ice lolly! @scarredforlife.bsky.social have had a Dracula lolly ad up. I can’t escape them!

Was the animation for the Dracula lolly by Cosgrove/Hall? It’s got the hallmarks of their work. Perhaps @annodracula.bsky.social knows, if no one else does.

Dr Who (in the form of Tom Baker) pays a visit to Blackpool and has a chit-chat with Tony Blackburn.

Regret to inform you, Number 2, but I think someone tried taking the rocket out for a spin this morning. www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/...

And Pressgang, back in the day! More a show about kids than specifically for them. I was watching it as a 20 something!

Not that SJA is a bad thing! The writing on that was “drama-kids-will-also-enjoy”, the aesthetic was for cbbc, which distinguished it. The same for Wizards v Aliens.

Maybe you could review The Prisonbear instead ? 🤣

Hope it doesn’t show up in The War Between the Sea and The LAND! The trailers make it seem a solid dramatic sci-fi.

RTD is a very good writer and showrunner, but this time round he’s run a kids show, with some fan and LGBQT+ service, rather than dramatic sci-fi which kids will also enjoy. That robot/alien/computer (forgot the name) at UNIT is straight out of the Sarah Jane Adventures!

While I’ve enjoyed the last couple of series, I think I’ve identified part of the problem; I recall Noel Clark (I know!) talking about returning to Doctor Who, after a short break & realising the writing wasn’t for a kids show, which is how he’d been acting for.

Doesn’t that go hand-in-hand with fascism?
