I have not experienced discrimination or attacks from far righters full-time but that's largely because I'm basically a shutin. I used to drive by a house that had a confederate flag flying but it disappeared like a year ago (the flag, not the house). Also trump banners, those are a thing here.

everything that isn't the suburbs or actually in Birmingham is basically falling apart, areas like fairfield and ensley are made out of buildings that probably haven't seen renovations in 20+ years. without california this state would probably look like the stereotypical "third world country".
