That book could’ve been an essay and should’ve been written a long time ago. Too late, unless he blows the same whistle against Trump and his cronies

Say it ain’t so, Joe. Say it ain’t so. Shameful decision.

Have you heard about apple cider vinegar’s curative properties?

Yeah. Harvard has a $53 billion endowment all its own. So maybe that needs to work a little harder for them.

So…. Far from improvement; SSA returns to long call waiting times and disconnects. Telephone service was barely viable BEFORE this does nothing but return to the bottom tier service status quo. Which, I guess, is better than no service at all.

Thank you! The flights home from Chicago yesterday didn’t help. Very stiff today. Considering tai chi classes at the community college this summer.

I am savoring Written on Water - reading one or two sections a day. Usually, I’m very quick to finish a book. Her writing is simple yet elegant! Her approaches to time-shifts, visual imagery and metaphors are aspirational for my nascent writing. The Unpossessed is next up on my slow read list.

The real tragedy is Kahneman felt unable to share his plan with his wider circle of friends. He lost access to their comfort and support in his last months. They lost saying goodbye. Key lesson: Dignity around death. We need to respect careful, decisions on dying without pushing an agenda.

Welcome to the MSDinosaurs Club. We are folks with MS symptoms 20, 30, 40 years and diagnosed late in the game. Thus we did not (and do not) benefit from early treatment with DMTs. I’m now nonactive SPMS with no approved treatments- but in ok shape - no longer running. Lifestyle management

* Internal focus:
Aikido emphasizes awareness of one's own body and energy, which can be relevant to MS patients needing to be mindful of their physical limitations and how to work within them. 7/7

*Falling and recovery:
Learning to fall safely is a key aspect of Aikido, which can be beneficial for people with MS who might experience balance issues and need to learn how to fall without injury. 6/7

* Adapting to the attack:
Just as an Aikido practitioner doesn't fight force with force but instead redirects it, people with MS need to learn to adapt their movements and daily routines to manage symptoms. 5/7

Key points of comparison: * Unpredictable opponent:
In Aikido, an opponent's movements are not always predictable, mirroring how MS symptoms can fluctuate and vary in intensity and type for individuals. 4/7

Much like how an Aikido practitioner redirects an attacker's force by blending with it and using their momentum against them; highlighting the unpredictable nature of MS symptoms and the need to adapt and manage them by "redirecting" one's own body's energy to compensate for limitations. 3/7

Aikido can be used to metaphorically define multiple sclerosis (MS) as a condition where the body's own "energy" or signals are disrupted and sometimes turned against itself, causing unpredictable shifts in movement and function: 2/7
