It's like when Trump was asked about his favorite passage in the Bible he claims to revere so much. He whiffed, of course. Trump is a vulgar ignoramus. What an embarrassingly unfit man to present to the world as the face of our country.

Their favorite mode of reporting on politics is from the viewpoint of savviness. They think Trump is being “savvy,” which means they think he’s scoring political points despite being cynical and amoral. The MSM loves that sh*t.

Fate, please rid us of his troublesome reign.

But the fact that the audience was pre-screened for loyalty to Trump means that the soldiers knew it was political and likely had a way to avoid being there. It’s on them if they chose to be.

Such a disappointment to see. Did you notice some of the soldiers gleefully doing the lame-ass Trump dance? I still can’t believe that *anyone* let alone millions of people could admire possibly the most rotten human being I’ve ever seen in national politics. Just disgraceful.

Which suggests that their leaders were more than happy to do Trump’s illegitimate and inappropriate bidding. It was a disgraceful scene that I hope doesn’t foreshadow what might happen if Trump orders them to commit violence against citizens exercising their basic rights.

We need rodeo clowns at this stupid parade to set the appropriate tone. Running around the tanks like they do with bucking bulls.

Good lord, fuck Politico. What a pathetic display of spineless appeasement to attempted tyranny. Who could ever take this publication seriously?

In 2021, the military brass were determined not to let Trump get away with a coup. I’m not sure that’s true anymore.
comment in response to

Behind closed doors, the military brass are free to tell Trump that they’re not playing along with his BS and what’s he gonna do about it? But instead we get troops booing California’s civilian leaders at the behest of the would-be dictator. It was very disappointing to see.

Fk that guy. What a betrayal of the people who supported him.

Thank you, Ben. It looks similar up here in the Bay Area with the morning clouds. No ANTIFA anywhere to be seen. Have a glorious day.

It’s not even smog, just morning fog that burns off by noon.

The Marines should have told Trump behind closed doors to go pound sand when he ordered them to go to L.A. This seems to suggest that they’re on-board with his totalitarian aims, which is a shocking development. Nobody is even going to put up a fight. So sad.
comment in response to

The Marines should never have agreed to go to LA. They should have refused Trump’s orders behind closed doors and we never would have known about it. This shows that the regular military is on-board with Trump’s plan for tyranny. Nobody even put up a fight.

I think I see what their plan is now. They’ll use the pretext of “protecting ICE” to install National Guard and regular military units in blue cities around the country. The hope was that the military wouldn’t go along with Trump, but the Marines agreeing to go to L.A. shows they’re on-board. Sad.

I often feel like these MSM reporters are trying to goad Trump into escalating things with leading questions that play on his power mania. It starts to sound like, "Governor Newsom said you're not so tough, Mr. President. Are you gonna take that?" It seems like they want a violent spectacle.

I would never waste my time watching abc news. They’re cowards and corporate hacks.

The Executive Branch has a duty to ensure that the law of the land is conscientiously enforced. Congress established this department and they determine its funding. The Trump administration is breaking the law by dismantling it and refusing to let it do its job.

But a reason to at least consider before rushing to blame protesters for whatever happens. Too many people automatically put the entire onus on protesters even when the cops are the ones being violent.

Again, MAGA fascists will make up lies to suit their preferred narrative regardless of what protesters actually do. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I guess this means that Matt Taibi will never find another decent job in journalism again. I mean, nobody could possibly still take him seriously, could they?

This is not to excuse the relative few protestors who get out of hand, but the MAGA fascists will be sure to get “damning” images out there even if every single protestor behaved perfectly. They are not bound by honesty or fairness. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/10/t...

Jeffries held a press conference yesterday, but most of the corporate’s media just ignored it.

I know it’s become a hackneyed trope, but I still feel that people need to be reminded about the double standards in our politics coverage. It’s outrageous, and it often seems like even those on the left get numb to it.

Since I’m not a powerful and prominent office holder, I think I can say that Mike Johnson is a slimy little piece of shit.

Hey WaPo, since U.S. corporate media are too spineless to show any overt disapproval of this fascist attack on the country, maybe we need to get some Australians and other foreigners who still value democracy and know how to do journalism to fill in for you useless wankers. bsky.app/profile/luck...

The corporate media betrayed our trust decades ago. They won't do a damned thing to help now.

The local police didn’t even need to be “backstopped” by the National Guard because the protests were not out of control. Likewise, the National Guard doesn’t need to be backstopped by the Marines. This is a ridiculously heavy-handed response by an out-of-control president/wannabe dictator.

Imagine if Barack Obama or Joe Biden had ever made such statements about a Republican governor.

There are basically a lot of angry losers who can never build anything worthwhile on their own, so they seek out things that make other people happy to destroy. It’s the entire rationale of the MAGA movement and Trump’s presidency.
