Most of the time when I edit other people’s writing that’s what I end up changing the most. Not their words but the punctuation.

There’s no easy way to do it but I’ve found that starting with the rules of good grammar is the best place to start. My letters long run-on sentences. I find a lot of people are really comma-happy and hate full stops.

It’s really tough. The hardest thing I e found when subbing is to balance the need for grammatical correctness and accommodating the client’s preferred style with the voice of the writer.

That’s a shame. I was hoping to see you on the ABC this week.

My recollection is that has happened once. It was discussed when Howard lost as a possibility but then he lost government.

The good news is that your lungs are already in way better shape than they were. There’s research around that suggests recovery starts almost as soon as you quit.

The toughest one for me for the post dinner smoked have with my mum. I used to smoke a cigar with my dad on a Sunday night over an ouzo. I miss those moments but not the smoke or alcohol. What can recreate about that morning ciggie that gives the feeling of the moment without the durrie?

This is why awards are so daft. That was a Grammy for still being alive and making music - not quality

I haven’t really listened to a lot their albums. I only have a greatest hits compilation in my collection now.

My first album was Tattoo You by the Stones. My recollection is that there were 2-3 good tracks and the rest were filler.

When I got my first job (I was 13) I spent my whole first pay on records. This was one of the singles I bought. I also bought Vienna by Ultravox, Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes as well as a few others.

I won’t give spoilers but I’d recommend avoiding this. The only people who won were the actors and professionals paid to make it.

Moonfall is about the moon falling out of orbit and its impact on the earth - typical apocalyptic movie fodder. But Netflix managed to take a fantasy and make it into a bunch of ludicrous claptrap.

Yep. I'm down to sharing Wordle and occasionally looking at the community noticeboard. The rest is useless to me. My feed is now over 80% sponsored posts and ads.

Yep - agreed (which is why I said there are some situations where it's warranted). I knew one family with very strong patriarchal views who homeschooled in a way to 'push' that agenda. That's why oversight is needed.

Was this you? Did you sneak across the ditch over the weekend?

I was not homeschooled but I do know people who were homeschooled and parents that chose to homeschool their kids. My admittedly limited sample set suggests it is not a optimal educational solution for the majority of kids (but I accept there are some situations where it may be the only option)

What a shit movie. There was so much potential in the idea but they made a movie that lacked any sort of Star Trek vibe. The should remove the Star Trek label, dumb out mentions of The Federation and market is as generic sci-fi schlock.

Guantanamo Bay is not US or Cuban territory. it's basically no man's land and there are no laws. It is nothing short of a prison/concentration/forced labour camp. Denmark should claim it as its sovereign property.

Shit ending and a gratuitous cameo at the end from someone with no connection to the broader Star Trek universe. What a waste. It simply did not feel like a Star Trek movie.

This is definitely not Roddenberry’s Star Trek.

The inconsistency with established Star Trek look and feel is really jarring too. No communicators. No recorders.

I’m 15 minutes in and can’t understand why this is in the Star Trek universe. It’s generic story telling and it that good so far.
