Capitalism dreams of slave labor. But this contradicts their need for consumers w $$. Yes. But they have a trick - make high interest credit easy to get. Charge once, profit twice. And once the poors are over-leveraged?…ta da…slave labor. Their blind spot? They’re eating the raft they live on.

When my daughter was born, the total cost was around 30k (that was in 2008). I had good insurance through work. Paid $100. Not sure what it would cost now. It’s insane.

From what we know about pre-colonial indigenous communities on Turtle Island, everyone in a given community received the best care available, and it was the same care. No private stashes of healing knowledge you can only access by producing an ungodly number of pelts.

Everything we think we know about Musk is wrong, as nearly all of it came directly/indirectly from him and the primary project of his life is self-mythologizing. Most of his supposed achievements aren't his, virtually none of his words can be believed, and he's hidden his real ambitions and values.
