Analyzing and critiquing political rhetoric and speech acts. Probably should have chosen Aristotle's or Cicero's bust. I have the relevant degrees (around here somewhere). #FightEverywhereFightOften.

If I were Beyoncé, the Boss and Bono I would host the biggest free concert in the history of fucking time on the same day as Trump’s teeny peen birthday parade.

"This is like Gestapo-type of stuff, and it just blows my mind that there's a certain, certain ugly segment of the American pop population that's enjoying watching these families getting ripped out of their homes and, and you somehow think that America's gonna be better if this is done." - Bill Burr

Following MAGA the antidote is obviously to proceed like you have no shame.

Until @democrats.org realize their political opponents are waging a religious war cloaked in politics and message about this threat to people's religious freedom, they will never gain the upper-hand again.

If Democrats want good coverage from political journalists, they should simply copy the Republican playbook of simply ignoring the media's demands, threatening them with lawsuits, constantly belittling them with insults and suggesting their followers should physically assault them.

“Their radical anti-American ideology is centered on the empowerment of girls and women,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio theonion.com/state-d...

This is what I keep getting at when I say MAGA is foremost a religious movement whose policy reforms aim to establish the US as a properly Christian state. Dems must emphasize how this project is antithetical to how most Christians practice their faith.

it’s pretty remarkable how the Democratic Party is self-flagellating more in 2025 after swapping out their candidate and losing the popular vote by 1.5% than republicans did in 2021 after losing the popular vote by 4.5% and inciting an insurrection

Democrats need to stop hand-wringing about their limited power in Congress and to start extracting whatever political price they can from the Republicans who are abetting Trump's corruption. Gift link: wapo.st/431rQCY

for fuuuck's sake I wrote an article last year about the 8th Circuit sticking a toe in the voter suppression waters not letting people sue under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act is basically soft-launching a repeal of the 15th Amendment ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social rightly using un-American to describe Republican behavior lately. Gotta keep this line of attack up so the default association people have when they here "Republican" is "un-American".

The new Democratic mantra needs to be: Treat others the way you want to be treated unless someone treats you poorly, then treat them how they treat you.

The problem with legacy and corporate media as it largely exists today that claims to just call 'balls and strikes' is that it does so without any sense of the rules of the game and what counts as balls and strikes. This makes their utterances meaningless.

"The new pope, like the old pope, does not support MAGA’s christofascist nationalism. MAGA, confronted with the fact that they do not control everything or everyone, responded in their usual fashion — by wailing and gnashing their teeth." — @nberlat.bsky.social

All you need to know about the Republican tax plan: The wealthiest 5% would get tax breaks. Everyone else would see crucial health care and nutrition assistance programs slashed. Call your reps.

Now's the time, folks.

The assault on the Constitution is happening *right now*. We cannot wait to defend it.
