I worked near Nîmes for a summer and was offered one many times but the cloudiness always put me off. Something disconcerting about it.

“Motion attributes to Larkin the poet faults I would have said were to do with Larkin the man. It’s true Larkin wanted to keep women at a distance, fend off family life because he felt that writing poetry depended on it. But most men regard their life as a poem that women threaten.”

Next time you must insist on a hard copy - post it notes can't jump.
(Separately, John Sutherland, in How to Read a Novel, is v compelling on why an actual book will always be the best format)

There's a series called Modern Love on Prime and one of the Epson is about a couple who play tennis.
It's called "rallying to keep the game alive". Something along those lines?
Or just "game, set and match"?

I think the role becomes bigger in retrospect when people look back and think "God Ms so-and-so really did a good job at helping me achieve that grade and I still remember it"

In terms of what schools are trying to do for behaviour and teaching in classrooms, positive.
In terms of wider issues like funding, influence of AI etc, negative.

(I know that's not a reason to neglect them but...)

Having worked in the south of france, I know the first to be true. But in a classroom, I always fail to follow it!
(Also I think a problem is that you can't open windows in a classroom overnight)

Clearly doesn't know anything about Western Europe either given that average American wages/ standards of living etc are now outstripping quite a few countries eg UK.

There's good stuff i recall in Laura Bates' book about a key thing being multiple, wide entrances to parks and public spaces so girls feel safe to enter. I think an experiment revealed girls' participation increased when they didn't have to go past big groups of boys/men.

Reader, the day got significantly hotter.

The only schs that *have* to follow NC are local authority ones which are an increasingly small number, especially at secondary.
My understanding is that Labour want to make all state follow it.

No as academies and free schools also dont have to follow the national curriculum (what they offer should theoretically be "equal" or above it but what that looks like is very vague)
comment in response to

Academies also dont have to follow the Nat Curric (though current gov are keen to change that).
Also, pedantic, but the English nat curric is actually very vague and non specific (esp compared with History). Shakespeare is indeed the only author named.

A couole of years ago, a friend told me about a similar group in Formby. They were publicised as litter picking, tidying up community spaces etc and then over time it became clear it was all very far right coded.
