Hahaha I did feel bad for that but also it's very human of me to be just wrong 🥲 Jayce would understand 😔

Gawd yeah gonna be honest after drawing bg3 and Cyberpunk characters for over two years, jumping into Arcane was super refreshing. Everything’s already stylized, way easier to read. I remember how long it used to take me just to figure out their key features back then....

Yeah! Tracing can really help you learn, but if you rely on it too much, it can make you insanely insecure about your art 🤧

Lmao I had to double check but I think a tooth gape but its more like his teeth are just angled? 😭

Tbh I do that with every character I struggle with 😭 I used to have one for Gale and Astarion too but I don't think I can find it now...

Try asking yourself why something works or what’s throwing your drawing off. Break things down, make notes, look at references, redraw the same thing a few times. That kind of focus will push you forward way faster than repetition

Just drawing a lot doesn’t always lead to improvement if you’re not actively paying attention to why things look right or wrong. Being intentional and thinking about form, structure, proportion, and what you’re trying to learn makes a huge difference

Also!!! It’s really important to draw with intention if you want to improve. Just drawing a lot doesn’t always mean you’ll get better. sometimes you need to slow down, study, and reaaaaally focus on what you're trying to learn

You can treat the traced lines like a sketch underneath just a suggestion to help you see the structure. Try to be confident with your own lines even if you’re faking it a bit!! That mindset helps so much - art isn’t meant to be perfect, it’s meant to be felt

Like fr tracing is a great exercise but it can make your drawing look stiff if you follow it too closely. use it as a learning tool, not the final product. You know how to draw, believe me!! ❤️

Looking at different angles helps too, it gives you a better sense of the gen form And if you’re tracing try not to follow every single line exactly. Instead look for the flow, the angle try to figure out which lines actually matter. exaggerate and experiment. even the source is just a suggestion

Tracing can be super helpful for that esp when you're just trying to understand shapes but!! remember to have the reference open in the subview. Sometimes we accidentally lose the character's feel because we’re just following the outline lines without checking

Tbh learning to spot and recreate the key features is kind of what art comes down to. It’s about simplifying and really seeing what makes something look like what it is.
