I agree. I follow r/fednews on Reddit and it's absolutely devastating. I can't see how someone can cause what's happening and not have it tear at their heart. I know you can never really know someone else's pain... but at least the ones causing this should try to feel something.

Agree with everything here... I posted this elsewhere, but seeing the vote and the Dems coming back to push the Rs who are at risk in their district to vote yes brings me optimism. We asked for unity and engagement... we got a 100% of it.

Yes, but the Republicans... gamesmanship... failed. Rs in risky districts could have voted no as a political move... but the Dems made it back and those Rs had to vote yes or it would have failed. Those Rs gave their opponents in the next election a free ad campaing. Only good spin on this.

This is actually a great way of thinking in WW2/miltary terms. The Dems have a single line they struggle to fill when broken. They should be setting up defense in depth and have a solid 2nd and 3rd line so the first one can handle the dumb shit (i.e. Canada) while able to hold against big stuff.
