Trump and those around him have sought from day one a pretext for unleashing military force against the American people. Today's actions are bad. But things will only get worse from here. The best possible response to it is collective action, stand up to force and document and share everything.

Big point that is being missed: without the insurrection act, the activated Guard troops are now federal army and cannot Do law enforcement. Period

Last time, the Tories tried to appease Hitler, and it failed. Now, Labour is trying to appease Trump. It will fail, too. Solidarity with protesters in LA. Abolish ICE!

A wise thread, do read.

The conditions that have led to what’s happening in the US today exist in democracies around the world. They are an inevitable outcome of our collective failure to adapt to fundamental changes in the information ecosystem on which our democracies were originally built.

It's here...

We agree. Tell your Representative to co-sponsor Articles of Impeachment, and vote YES on impeachment. Call (202) 224-3121 and ask for the office of your Representative. When you reach them, give your name and address. Give a brief, direct, polite, clear message. Then, do it again tomorrow.

Public ownership ‘not the answer’ says Minister as Thames Water teeters. Wrong. After 36 yrs of market solutions. Result - sewage in rivers, unplugged leaks, customers fleeced, high dividends. Govt dithered. TW added another £3bn debt, spends £200m a year on advisers. Need public ownership now.
