They had trouble with it going over the alotted time because of too many participants. Problem is, they're going about this the wrong way.

I've seen a few fursuiters who are also wheelchair bound. Are they not allowed if they need a handler to help push them or guide them?

This is why I hate large furry conventions. They're too big and often have to make rules to limit things, and those rules often hurt disabled people.

What bothers me is how they're framing it as "we're limiting the number of participants" and they're also having to pre-approve ALL participants.
Which means all kinds of potential judgemental crap.

No it's not. They're often armed as well and you can claim you felt like you and others were in danger. You're allowed to defend yourself and others and it's completely legal to do so against people dick swinging guns and not identifying themselves properly.

I love that the shorts became a joke in the Risa episode of DS9. Too bad we never got to see Worf in them... or Bashir...or Quark.
Don't judge me

Furries had a major event in vrchat a few weeks ago, raising over $100k for charity, with over 30k people attending. It's got so much potential!

I've been saying it for years that the conservatives are the real snowflakes.

A Christian threatened to shoot me, but I don't think all Christians are like that. Most are just like you, normal people going about their day. Most aren't the extremist minority.

And by Quran, you mean "racist white dude's interpretation of the Quran" and not the actual Quran.

Yep! And it's also FREE. And avatars can be customized so you could pretty much do a virtual cos play if you want.
Virtual and online conventions would be just as awesome as in person ones if conventions put effort in

Furry conventions have been doing a combination thing for a while. There's also some anime conventions doing stuff too but furries seem to be the ones that are doing it the best.

VRchat, the platform that's been used for some, has a desktop PC mode that doesn't require a VR headset. And yeah definitely wish cons did livestreams more.

I am so glad that furries got the idea of "Let's do an online convention in VR" back when covid started. I wish this was something that more convention types could do! Even just doing a convention that also live streams events would still be great!

Is it the same?
No absolutely not. But online conventions, when done right, are SAFE, and are a great option for people with disabilities who can't travel.
I want to see more of them. Seriously, this can become a great thing!

And yes, i understand that not everyone has access to good PCs, VR headsets, etc, but many of these events also do live stream content on Twitch, and have options for those with limited resources to attend. And many ARE FREE.
AND YOU DON'T GET SICK.

I think there's a LOT of people who are going to be saying "I was wrong". This is, sadly, the point of misinformation spreading. People lied, and other people believed it. People close to her believed it.
This is why we need to encourage people to look into their sources and not jump to conclusions.

This isn't a social thing or something that any one individual has done, it's deeper than that. Like I'm not just in the wrong body, but that I'm just not supposed to exist as I currently do

I remember people saying "oh that's not that bad" while also completely ignoring that the sky in my area was red from the fire and ash, and that people who didn't have respiratory issues suddenly did.

Don't ask minors for porn, especially when there's people well into their 40s that will happily draw this if you know where to look

Your actions and words online can still hurt others. It can still cause pain.
I have been saying it for decades now, that people need to stop treating each other like they're just words on a screen.
We are more than just "words on a screen"

Sometimes, I just want to tell people to shut the hell up about how "woke" or "nazi" or whatever something is, and to just friggen eat the chicken, or play the video game, or watch a movie about space wizards or whatever it is people are mad at.

Honestly wondering if this whole empathy thing is worth it when I am getting so stressed about other people that I kind of want to disconnect completely for a few weeks, and hope everything is fixed when I come back..

Getting a little sick of wondering "Is this person OK?" and being too afraid to directly ask them, because people seem to not like talking about why they're feeling miserable, despite it being obvious that something is bugging them.

I want to be known for being a decent person, but I also don't want to be glanced over when I'm not being an advocate for what I believe in. I am more than that, and I really wish that people could actually see that.
