It's like looking at the fossil records and seeing all these organisms that died out or evolved into descendant organisms, seeing how humans came about and declaring humans are the End of Evolution because no organism has replaced us yet.
Like bitch we just got here, give it a minute

What's a "successful" liberal democracy? One that never collapses? The ones that exist today did not exist for most of human history. They replaced prior systems, which replaced prior system, which replaced prior system, et cetera ad nauseam. You think just because *you're* in it, it's the last one?

Also it has to be said that "show me a successful X" is basically impossible regardless of what X is. The only constant in human history is change. We exist in a snapshot of history and some people assume that *their* snapshot is somehow permanent and will continue into the future indefinitely.

Itβs funny because it could be anything from powered armor to Mechagodzilla and still do basically the same thing in a lot of cases, so a lot of it is really about Vibes

And even then, what (if anything) a given scale actually means is ???
Also doesnβt help that eg most anime draws things off model and out of scale all the time, too

Honestly Iβve found a lot of people really just have no concrete sense of how big the average giant robot is or isnβt. The biggest things most of us see are road vehicles and buildings, and thatβs a huge no-manβs-land for the average robot to fall into.
