It's a little frustrating that social media editors are still using the ragebait/engagementbait description methodology of the past decade of algorithm based corporate social media. I'd have hoped they would leave it behind to that past era as social media moves forward into the open protocol era

Being in an american history course that begins with the American revolutionary war, then expands to other revolutions–recent past, ancient past, & current–definitely rewired my brain in a way that this country's govt now calls liberal propaganda because learning more & broadening horizons does that

Belgium formally apologized at the same time that the United States had been revving up its full scale nationalist xenophobia imperialism campaign machine (not unlike the current times) in which i was fully espoused for years; the disparity was so jarring as I studied revolutions in school.

Would this court maintain that if a prompter used this model in a way that generates a book to be published in the same marketplace that happens to be very similar to the authors, then the prompter is liable rather than the creator of the model that produced it/trained it/still stores the original?

Arguing that LLMs are "quintessentially transformative works" is so wild to me because its such a corporation liability free pass, putting the burden of responsibility on the end-users/suckers, meanwhile you've got their billboards out here basically saying "this is for making competing products"

When you're working 3 jobs while going to school full time and just barely making enough to feed yourself, ChatGPT offers an appealing way to make life a little bit easier without feeling like you're REALLY doing something wrong I'm increasingly getting a double bell curve in my classes
