If I could get thyme from a bottle, The first thing that I'd like to do Is to put it in my soup, so it would be bland And then I would share some with you. But there never seems to be enough thyme And so I'm gonna have to go to Safeway.

That would be a Wookie mistake.

When people started pumping their own gas, it cost jobs. When people started checking out their own groceries, it cost jobs. Things change, and people adjust.

Anthony Tyler Quinn playing Sylvia Coco on the sit-com "Ask Harriet." He never told his daughter about his little hobby.

What if they tried to do a movie about a husband who beat his wife, but didn't really want to be a wife-beater, he just couldn't control himself? And the movie tried to make you sympathize with him? This is why I have no interest in the Wolfman. Or the Incredible Hulk.

It's a lot of non-controversial conservative ideas. It's kind of like saying "Hitler was kind to animals." It's absolutely true. But it's not the whole story.

When is someone going to do a biopic of Siegel and Shuster?

I went to a book reading by #CalvinTrillin. It was the book about his father. I asked who his ( deceased ) father might be voting for that year, for President. I didn't really care, of course, I just wanted Trillin to talk politics and be funny.

So he will have to become Speaker of the House, and get two people elected who will then resign. Seriously, if he can manage to do that, let him do it. #12thAmendment

The first episode of ALIAS owes a lot to this movie. @williambibbiani.bsky.social

How about the difference between L&O and NYPD BLUE? In NYPD BLUE cops would go into interrogation rooms and beat up suspects. I stopped watching. I couldn't be on the side of those cops any more.

I remember an L&O episode about recovering repressed memories. It was later shown that the technology to recover those memories was faulty, and people were recovering memories that could not have happened. That stands as a very naive episode. Yet it was remade as a L&O UK episode.

Check out Law & Order UK sometime. Great to see old episodes done with British accents & the funny wigs. Also Queens of Mystery, in which the head cop keeps telling three lady mystery writers to stop trying to be detectives, because mystery writers are not detectives. Yet they are.

How is it we fear insurrection in the real world but cheer it in Star Wars?

Trump doesn't solve problems; he creates them. That's why he sent the National Guard to deal with some protesters. If he treats people like violent offenders, maybe they will become violent offenders, and he can denounce them. He's just looking to crush dissent, like his buddy Putin.

I'm in my Sixties now, and I don't want to get into my Nineties. I've seen what they go through. I don't think I could afford to live that long.

Not enough people care about corruption for it to make a difference. It's the incompetence I can't stand. The US economy was the envy of the world at the end of Biden's term, and Trump is now heading us toward a recession, and it's taken him less than a year.

The intriguing thing to me is that the first half of the movie gives no clue that it's about to turn into a comedy. I will never forget that boat going straight down into the water.
