I was being mean earlier because my brain was cooked, I apologize for that. I do get the appeal, and I should have at least been nicer about my admonition if I were going to say it at all

I do genuinely wish it weren't that way because it's so pretty and sleek and comfy, trust me I get that part ^^' But yeah problems like this do just randomly occur. I also remember it not hitting 120Hz on a mobile 2070 when I last used it. Switching to XFCE for a demo was eye-opening

Cinnamon. KDE Plasma has a long-running reputation of being buggy and unstable, it's been that way since I first used it in 2018 until now. The official theme browser currently doesn't work, and that's not even the most broken it's ever been (it nearly broke an install for us in the day)

genuinely it's because KDE Plasma is a heap of shit and you should pick literally any other DE

i first observed this on Linux Mint in 2015 with the Steam game Unturned, which was smoother and more stable than on Windows which I had just moved off of. Don't even think it had a native Linux version yet, and this was before Steam Play. So I don't doubt this for a second

Incredibly funny that there's so much puritan bullshit in furry spaces given that we're still categorically banned by payment processors

What sample rate? In Pipewire, the total quantum (generalization of the audio packet size, IIRC) is calculated from the buffer size and the sample rate

the defaults are definitely made to prevent crackling and stuff on slower systems yeah lol i think i set it to like, 256/48000 for my DAW (because VST overhead leads to xruns at 128)
