The portrayal of the USA as a nation favoring diplomacy and peace is one of the greatest lies we’ve perpetuated since its founding. A nation that favors peace and diplomacy doesn’t spend what we spend on a military rather than education and healthcare for its citizens.

I was watching a few videos recently on different theories to better explain the timeline of the universe and each are compelling in their own ways. JWST has really shown us that we simply don’t know what the hell is going on and I love it. Just mind blowing the discoveries it has already made.

I said “long ago” as 500+ years ago during the 1500s when some Catholic priests sold “indulgences” based upon the sin: venial or grave/mortal sin.
Ironically, some Evangelicals do this today—monetary payments to be absolved of sin (aka buying your way into heaven).

While no longer official church policy, the Catholic Church long ago did allow you to buy your loved ones put of purgatory/limbo and had a pricing breakdown based upon the types of sins they committed.

Exactly. If you back to old attack ads in newspapers and at rallies in the 1800s for Presidential campaigns and other high profile elections, some of them were as unhinged and hateful as they are today. Nothing has changed other than it’s easier to spread lies and hate.
