It feels weird they're doing this off the back of the most expensive standard boxes we've ever seen. Especially considering Sealed exists.

I still believe it's a framing/idea thing. If I posted a MTG starter guide, it would likely bomb too. Even though Final Fantasy should be brining new players.

The main point you made was that "high effort educational content... Basically always bomb", I'd argue the framing/core idea is what can make it bomb.

Funnily enough, if I don't make high effort educational content it doesn't do well.
It all comes down to the framing. I can cover the basic rules of the game, but I have to make sure to cover some advanced things in the same video to hit my full TAM.

I've ordered through MTGMate for ages. Great service, I've even used that combine-ing feature before. I highly recommend them.
They don't stock sealed product though, otherwise I would have looked to order through them.

It's funny. This same week I had a store ship me a damaged card. I emailed & asked what the options would be, they said "Don't worry, we'll handle it." Next thing I know, they've express shipped me a single card where the postage cost more than the card 🤯 (MTGMate.com.au btw, amazing service.)

614.1a Effects that use the word “instead” are replacement effects. Most replacement effects use the word “instead” to indicate what events will be replaced with other events.
Replacement effects are not continuous effects 🙂

You're thinking of Timestamps which are a Layers thing. (The order in which you apply two continuous effects on the same layer.)

So you basically pick one for a particular instance of damage, and that will be the one to take damage. If you take damage again, you could pick the other.

You choose the order of replacement effects. They don't loop infinitely.

I recently convinced my wife to watch this show. She didn't enjoy the first couple of episodes, so we skipped to the start of S2 to watch the first 5 episodes there. Let me tell you, the "let's go home" reaction was priceless 😂
