Mature, progressive, widow helping younger gay men and couples survive & thrive just as my late husband and I did for 25 years. I'm also doing my best to maintain my sanity as I watch my country slip into an oligarchy. 🫘 #Leguminati

I have been using the Substack phone app on Android to keep up with a few people. But, lately, when I try to subscribe to an account, it tells me I need to subscribe "outside the app". When I use the website to do it, it redirects me to the app. So, I won't be able to subscribe to you over there.

Also, I received the highest honor of my life that day when Urvashi named me an "Honorary Lesbian".

Ultimately, all of the parties agreed to proceed with planning for both events and we had a National March on Washington in 1993 and a Stonewall Celebration in NYC in 1994. 3/3

NYC activists wanted to celebrate the 25th anniv of the Stonewall Riots and feared competition for attendees. During a break, I asked Urvashi Vaid and two other leaders to consider a compromise. My hand-edited proposal shows how difficult coalition building was. 2/3

In 1991, I was a delegate to a National Planning Meeting for a March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights. Substantial divisiveness among the groups led to a boiling point where the planning meeting was about to fall apart. 1/3

My favorite Kristin Chenoweth performance is her and Nathan Lane singing "You're Just in Love" from Call Me Madam. I think this fabulous 2 part harmony performance was in 2000 on an episode of The Late Show with David Letterman.

Unfortunately, we live in the 21st century, where, apparently, you can only ever write about such topics after the end of the subject's time in office. I don't make the rules. I'm just an observer of them being applied.

"very fast pace" indeed. Perhaps if the government were providing proper due process and following the law at the pace it should be, they would not be making so many "human errors".

I'd need too know what type of noodles(pasta) you're proposing before weighing in on such a pivotal debate.

Essentially, the government's position is that, despite nearly 250 years of precedent, the US Constitution doesn't really apply to people we deem non-citizens.

The question on everyone's mind this morning: Does He need to resign as President before He can ascend to Pope or can He serve as both concurrently?

I agree that retailers and service providers should be showing the cost of tariffs on bills/receipts. I remember seeing line items on my wireless phone bills in the early 2000s for regulatory costs of doing business but listed as taxes.

I've always found Willamette Valley Pinots to be the best. I won't drink any Pinots from other regions (in the US).

AG, as an avid follower and supporter of you and DG on Daily Beans, I am finding a little comfort in these post-election days. However, I'm not really doing that well. I've finally left Twitter and come over here to follow you in a place that I can (hopefully) feel safe.
