Yes! I have been on a wildflower hunt lately and they've been bonkers this year. Excited to leave these lowlands for higher elevation this weekend, as ours are starting to fade.

Idaho is also on par for that. No one pays attention to us bec small population/nation expects the worst, we pass the bills, then Texas does it and everyone goes 'can you believe it!?!?' and Idaho says, yeah, we've been living it. (I say this as someone who's lived lengths of time in both states)

For those that had access to healthcare (money) it was fairly common. I think it’s hard to know true numbers based on population (I’ve looked at various times in research), but essentially if you were a person with means and wanted to know, ya did the rabbit test

Would google maps work for what you need? I used that extensively in my last job to map all sorts of things.
