Please make a public comment rejecting the plan to contravene the ADA by ending regulations around accessibility and accommodations in building designs.
You might not need a ramp today, but you might tomorrow or next year—for a wheelchair, or a baby stroller, or even a heavy suitcase.

Hard agree with many of the points made in this article. AND (gently hating myself for this) I also sort of love the weirdness of the 'art' - who wouldn't want to be at a picnic with that koala terrier and boogying bull-bear?

The use of medical diagnoses - private, confidential medical information - in this way an attempt to systematically surveil, demonize and ultimately eliminate a huge, diverse community that is already targeted and marginalized in multiple ways

Still, people seek diagnosis for a lot of reasons, weighing up an incredibly complex set of risks, costs and potential benefits that can shift with every election or cultural change.

Diagnosis has always been a double-edged sword: while it can *sometimes* support accommodations, it can also be weaponized by a range of social and political systems to disqualify folks from work, remove children from their families, increase chances of incarceration, and more

It is already extremely costly, inaccessible and risky for most Autistic people to access medical diagnoses, which *may* provide access to crucial forms of support and accommodation. Now it is even more dangerous, especially for racialized, trans and/or undocumented Autistics

Yep, just cover it all in gold leaf. No one will notice anything...
