Drag is ultimately from confederate soldiers going from camp to camp to mock and make fun of cis women by gay men, oftentimes also in blackface. Midterms are for much much more than the house. It covers senate seats in some states. Governors in many states and many other parts of government.
Otherwise, I couldn’t tell you, I’m not a strategist.
